The Challenge

A local event organizer was hosting a 3-day outdoor music festival at Grant Park with an expected attendance of approximately 2,500 people per day. They needed a reliable sanitation partner who could deliver clean units, meet ADA compliance requirements, handle daily servicing throughout the weekend, and coordinate with the Chicago Park District on placement and ground protection.

Key challenges included:

Our Assessment

Our operations team visited Grant Park two weeks before the event to coordinate with the organizer and the Chicago Park District. We identified placement zones near each stage entrance and the food vendor area, mapped pump truck access routes via Columbus Drive, and confirmed ground protection requirements for unit placement on park turf.

The Solution

We designed a 2-zone layout with 24 total units distributed based on expected crowd flow between the two stages and the food area:

• 4 x ADA-Accessible Units — 2 per zone on level ground with plywood platforms
• 2 x Deluxe Flushable Units — placed in the VIP and artist area behind the main stage
• 4 x Portable Hand Wash Stations — paired with each restroom cluster

Results

The event organizer reported zero sanitation complaints from attendees across all 3 festival days. Our daily morning servicing kept every unit clean and stocked throughout the weekend.
